At worst TOG could be forced to pay Hussie back, but the legal fees involved would cut into it anyway, and even then there was an uncomfortably high probability that they would walk away without paying anything (they did SOME work, evidently, it was just mediocre and pitiful and they claimed they needed all of the money Hussie gave them just to do that, nevermind that they did almost nothing and then turned around and started work on King's Quest instead without telling Hussie about it) and leaving Hussie paying those legal fees for nothing. It wouldn't be a criminal trial, but a breach of contract lawsuit. They aren't CRIMINALS who broke into Hussie's house, they just failed to uphold their end of a business deal, that's a different department altogether.
